The interview material will only be used for this project. If you are available and willing to give us your help, the acknowledgment will be $100 for e-mail and $500 for face-to-face interview.

전문가에게 답이 오지 않을 때

짧게 다시 전에 보낸 이메일에 대해 상기시켜주고, 전에 보낸 이메일의 원본을 뒤에 첨부해준다. 전문가가 이 이메일을 봤을 때 전에 보낸 이메일을 따로 찾을 필요가 없이 바로 보고 답장을 할 수 있게 하기 위함이다.

전문가에게 거절하더라도 다른 후보를 찾기 위해 거절의사를 밝혀달라고 하는 것이 프로젝트 스케쥴 상 유리하다. 보통은 끝까지 이메일을 답을 하지 않지만, 거절 의사를 짧게 밝히는 전문가도 있다.

전문가 Dan이 소속한 디자인 회사가 RIM (블랙베리를 만든 회사)에 인수되어 경쟁사인 삼성을 도와줄 수 없는 상황이라 거절의사를 밝혔다.

전문가 Clark가 자신은 컨설턴트라 컨설팅으로 진행을 했으면 하고 사례비를 더 요구하여 인터뷰 제안이 거절되었다. 다시 한번 이메일을 보내 짧은 서면 인터뷰를 요구했으나 비용 문제로 다른 대체자를 찾았다.

I have just read your documents. The 'questionnaire' is not a questionnaire, it is a series of questions that require essay-type answers. In fact, to answer them properly is a serious effort, amounting to a book, for which I happen to be capable.

But that is not what we agreed on.

I _can_ help you and your client, Samsung, understand and pursue the benefits of the next step in UX/UI, context awareness. I can also help you and your client understand and avoid the problems that must be overcome to implement context awareness well.

But to help you will require a consulting contract, just like my other clients.

Feel free to contact me to discuss a consulting contract.

Given your questions (for example, the fact that you consider Googles' Glass project a context awareness project instead of a display system), I am not convinced of your depth of in-house expertise in context awareness or UX/IU.

Perhaps that is how I can contribute to your further success and to the plans Samsung is developing for Context Awareness in High Volume Consumer Electronics, as I did for Philips when I co-authored the original Ambient Intelligence Strategy.

5-6 pages is 1/2 to 1 day. My day rate is US$2,000. 

Since we're now negotiating with only a short time till the deadline on the 24th, I'd have to move some other committments. So my fee would be one full day. What time in the California time zone on the 24th is your deadline?

전문가가 관심을 밝혔을 때는 최대한 빨리 디테일을 보내주는 것이 중요하다. 대면 인터뷰를 할지 서면 인터뷰를 할지 정하고, 대면으로 진행할 시에는 인터뷰 날짜와 시간을 정하는 것이 시급하고, 서면이라면 대면을 할 수 없는 상황을 설명하고 질문지를 첨부하여 보내면 된다.

대면 인터뷰 대상자에게 인터뷰 날짜 일주일 정도 전에 미리 간략한 질문지를 보내 놓으면 더 좋으나, 이 경우에는 서면+대면 인터뷰의 비용을 요구할 수 있으니, 서면의 질문지를 답을 할 필요 없이 참고만하면 된다고 상기시켜주어야 한다.

서면 인터뷰 답이 오고 나서

보통 대면 인터뷰는 그 자리에서 사례금을 지급하지만, 서면 인터뷰는 은행을 통해 지급한다. 따라서 서면 인터뷰 답이 오면 계좌번호(Bank Account #), Swift Code, 주소 (Address), 전화번호 (Tel #)를 요구해야 한다. 그리고 NDA를 꼭 받아야 한다. 보통 NDA는 워드파일을 첨부하거나 직접 싸인한걸 스캔한 이미지 파일을 받으면 된다.
